Demi George, Opinions Editor
Demi George, currently a junior, discovered her love for journalism just last year when she decided to join Journalism I in hopes to further explore her abilities as a writer.
“I first wanted to join [Journalism] so I could expand my writing skills, but I ended up loving it and now want to major in it,” George said.
As an Opinions Editor, George is responsible for editing opinions articles on current pressing issues for certain editions of the Spartan Speaks.
“I love writing about new stuff and writing a muckraking article,” George said. “It is really satisfying to write about important issues and to also inform readers about issues that they may not have even heard of.”
Outside of the classroom George’s hobbies include snowboarding, knitting, cooking and participating in dance competitions with her team.
“A lot of people know I am part of the Dance Team, however, few people know about my interest in snowboarding. I tend to be very active and always find something for myself to do,” George said.
On the weekends George enjoys going to Chipotle with her friends and always shopping for new trends.
After high school George plans on attending Arizona State University or another college and she wants to explore the world and meet new people.
“Everyone in my family went to ASU and I would love to major in journalism there,” George said. “Also, I really just want to live on the West Coast.”
