I am a senior, this is my first year on the Spartan Speaks staff and my first semester in Journalism 2. Here at Orono, I play for the Varsity Basketball team, and I am also a varsity rower for the Long Lake Rowing Crew. I decided to pursue journalism in my final year at Orono because I think that journalistic writing will be an important skill for me in college and potentially in my professional career. Next fall I will be attending Syracuse University, where I will be studying communications and pursuing my rowing career. Syracuse is a big journalism school, so I think that having some experience in that area will help me succeed in my academic journey.
