After shut outs over Watertown-Mayor (6-0) and Breck (4-0),  the Orono girls soccer team faced the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Knights for the final game in the Section 6A bracket.

After an intense game, the two teams were tied (1-1). During a shoot out to determine the winner, the Spartans eliminated the Knights in a (5-4) shootout.

The soccer team will advance to the 2014 Girls Soccer Class A State Tournament which takes place from Oct. 21-30. The games will be located are various locations, the semi-finals and final games being located at St. Cloud State University Stadium.

A full tournament bracket will be released by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) with updated game times and locations within the next few days. Congratulations to the Spartans!
