Alec Morin, News Editor

Black and Gold, Five Feet Long: Gary. Student Brings Hamlet to Deserted Island. As a News Editor, nothing grabs the attention of Orono senior Alec Morin like an unusual article title. He sees titles as a “way to draw the reader in”.

This year, Morin is a senior, and plans to attend college in St. Cloud next year. While majoring in marketing and minoring in psychology, Morin would like to remain in Minn., somewhere around the cities.

In journalism, his favorite type of article to write is a hard-hitting news article, specifically worldwide type issues. Morin enjoys writing these articles because it brings a larger perspective to the small Orono and Long Lake community.

Outside of school, Morin spends his time taking care of his five foot python, Gary, and walking or swimming or biking when it is warm outside. If he could learn how to do one thing, he would want to learn how to play the violin. And if stranded on a deserted island, would bring a copy of Hamlet, so he “would feel less mad”.

Aside from his taste for reading “top-ten lists”, Morin has a favorite quote to match what it is like to be a news editor: ““I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma, in the afternoon I put it back again.” -Oscar Wilde
