If you have listened to the radio at any point this year, you have probably heard the song “Me and My Broken Heart”. That chart-topping song is by a pop group called Rixton.

In March, the British band released an album titled Let the Road. It has a current rating of four-and-a-half stars out of five and is available for $9.99 on iTunes.

The album is named after the first song on the album which was written early after the band first formed.

The band officially became Rixton in 2012 and Let the Road is their debut album. The group is composed of four members including Jake Roche, Charley Bagnall, Danny Wilkin and Lewi Morgan. Roche is the lead singer and also plays guitar. Bagnall is lead guitarist, Wilkin plays bass and keyboard, and Morgan is the drummer. All three sing backup vocals.

“The album means a lot to us just because it’s been a long process,” said Roche in an interview with Ryan Seacrest, because although the band became official in 2012, the boys had been making music with each other for six years.

Rixton is now touring with Ariana Grande on her Honeymoon Tour this year.

The album has a Maroon 5 feel to it with high vocals, cool guitar tones and catchy choruses. It includes many different tempos and feels versatile so listeners won’t get tired of it. Although they are a pop group and this is a pop album, the 12 songs each have a different mood which makes the music perfect for any mood.

As mentioned before, the first song on Rixton’s new album is “Let the Road,” and one of the favorite songs on this album. This song is unique because it is sung a capella. The song incorporates layered voices and has a good message about “holding on” and letting “love show the way”.

The next song is called “Wait on Me”. It is a faster paced song with a strong beat and a catchy chorus. This will be a good song for the summer time and hanging out with friends.

After comes “Appreciated”. The song starts with an acoustic guitar and whistling. This song has a medium tempo and sounds a little bit like some One Direction songs.

“Beautiful Excuses” is the next song on the album. This song is inspired from one of the band member’s ex-girlfriends. It has a featured electric guitar solo at the end and a sad tone to it but still has a fair-paced beat.

After that comes “Me and My Broken Heart” which is a pretty well-known song and Rixton’s most popular song. It is up-beat and great song for jamming with friends.

Next on the list is a song called “Hotel Ceiling”. This song has a similar tone and tempo to “Beautiful Excuses,” but the special thing about this song is that it was written by Ed Sheeran.

The next song is a fun song featuring a nice acoustic guitar sound. It’s called “I Like Girls”. This song also has a chill summer-time feel and is a little silly and makes you smile.

“Speakerphone” is the next song. It incorporates a lot of harmonies between the band members and has a nice build to the chorus.

There are four more songs on the album. The titles are “We All Want the Same Thing”, “Whole”, “Make Out” and “Me and My Broken Heart (Pnau Remix)”. All songs incorporate their same general band sound.

Overall, this album is really catchy and doesn’t really have a bad song on it. If you enjoy Maroon 5, One Direction, Olly Murs, MAGIC! and artists like that, you will definitely enjoy Rixton and Let the Road.
