Walk the Moon released their new album, “TALKING IS  HARD” on Dec. 2, and it got to number four on iTunes on that day.

The first single off of the album, “Shut Up and Dance”, was released back in September.

The single was number one on Spotify’s viral top 50 US chart for two weeks after its release.

The second single off of the album, “Different Colors”, was released on Nov. 17.

Walk the Moon surprised their fans when they released the entire album on Spotify a week early before the actual release date.

Also on Spotify, the band has a track by track commentary where they talk about each track.

This album sounds like it came straight out of the 80s and almost every song has a rhythm perfect for dancing to.

“Different Colors” and “Shut up and Dance” especially have catchy choruses that are perfect songs to blast on a road trip. “Portugal” also has a strong chorus.

“Aquaman” has a somewhat calmer tone to it, but that does not take away from it’s catchiness.

“Up 2 U” starts off calmer, but the chorus takes a twist into more rock than 80s pop sounding.

“Down in the Dumps” has a powerful message to feel empowered.

“Work This Body” seems like a perfect song to workout to because it’s upbeat tempo.

In the album commentary, the band said that “Sidekick” reminds them of past Walk The Moon. With a similar sound to their previous album in 2012, it blends with the sound of that album and this album.

In general, this album is catchy and perfect for singing along to.
