As fall is creeping up on us, and our days of rompers and shorts are numbered to a mere few weeks, fall fashion trends are ready to make their way out of closets and onto the streets.

A practical trend (finally!) for this fall is knits. Whether it be chunky sweaters or long scarves, fashion houses including Céline and Marc Jacobs make knits wearable. Generally, knits should be worn in muted colors such as oatmeal, mink and sand.

Forget a little black dress, remember a little black jacket. As far as fall coats go, designers Miu Miu and Calvin Klein lengthen the classic black coat to mid-thigh in order to create a new twist on a classic piece. These coats can be purchased in local department stores in a variety of brands and styles.

One of fall’s largest color trends is olive. The military inspired trend was evident on runway shows including Isabel Marant and Balmain. Wear this shade of green in accessories as well as military inspired pants and jackets.

Designer Tommy Hilfiger debuted Norwegian styled sweaters. This trend is hot for fall, even on the coldest slopes of winter. Pair these sweaters with a pair of black leggings and winter boots.
