The Orono boys hockey team had a great season. After tying for second in the Wright County Conference with Delano, Orono had an 8-4 record, behind undefeated Holy Family.

The team also had an amazing sections run, becoming the section champions after a 6-1 win over Chaska and a 2-1 win over Bloomington Kennedy, following an overtime goal scored by sophomore David McCuskey. They advanced to the section final game against Breck, and ended in a 2-1 win, taking the team to State.

Goalie Jonathon Flakne has an impressive save record of .930 and let in only three goals in sections.

Senior captains Jake Flemmer, Ellis Norenberg and Sam Challgren led them team alongside first-year varsity coach Kasey Yoder.
