State Qualifiers: Christine Ellis and Kylie Thedens

The girls gymnastics team has been working hard this season and although their efforts did not turn out as well as they had hoped, the team finished sixth overall in conference.

“As a team, we received our high[est] score of the season and our goal for the year of a 131 at our last dual meet of the season,” junior Heather Alton said. Although this was a team high, the team fell short to Waconia.

Freshman Kylie Thedens went to the State meet for bars and senior Christine Ellis went to State for floor. The State meet was held at the University of Minnesota at the Sports Pavilion.

Next season the team hopes that they will continue to grow and produce even better scores.

Senior Christine Ellis looks forward to coming back to watch the team next season. “I hope that the team next year can do even better and I really want to be able to come back and see all my girls with some awesome new skills,” Ellis said.
