State Results: Varsity Jazz (12th)

The Orono Dance Team had a rough start this season with some challenges early on, however once they changed their song for their jazz routine, the team launched  into a winning streak, ending in a twelfth place finish at the State tournament.

The girls weren’t as lucky in their kick routine, where they placed fourth at the section meet, just one place away from the State tournament.

“The team has done so amazing this year and I am so proud of every member that has been with us this season,” senior and captain Mackenzie Iversen said.

The girls are already planning for next season. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how far our team can go next season,” junior Clare Swanholm said.

“Now that we all have had the experience of being able to advance to State, we all know what it feels like …  and I think that will push us next year to work just as hard, if not harder, to get to State again.”

The Orono Dance Team finished strong this season under the instruction of first-year coach Allison Bridges and are hoping to be a bigger threat in 2015.
