Spartans move to 2-0 after beating Marshall

Spartans stay undefeated after a win against Marashall

Coming off the win against Monticello, the Spartans came up against Marshall once again on their home court.  Again both halves were led by the Spartans, the first half ended 26-24 and the Spartans would go on to win 62-53 outscoring Marshall by seven points after a close first half.

“I think we were trying to work with what the D[efense] was exposing to us,” Larson said. Spartans faced foul trouble once again to a lesser degree, however Hennings fouled out late into the second half.  Wohler kept the same  line up with Sustacek, Hennings, Larson, Ten Eyck and Turnham.

Nine of the Spartan players scored and were led by Larson who totaled 18 points, followed by Jacoby with nine and Turnham with eight. “I was just trying to find the open spot and take what they were giving us,” Larson said. Unfortunately for the Spartans Jacoby was unable to finish the game.  He left in the second half with an injury to his left knee, details on the injury and unknown as of now but caused Jacoby to leave the game on crutches.  The Spartans play next on Nov. 29 against Chisago Lakes as part of an invitational in Monticello, Minn.
