Today the homecoming court was announced at 2:30 p.m by Orono High School senate advisor, Doug Erickson. The seniors voted on the homecoming court are as followed:

“I didn’t hear it [annoucement] at first.” said senior Molly Peltier, “Then Rachel [Hamaty] told me,” said Peltier. “I’m excited and nervous at the same time.” Peltier wasn’t the only one who missed the announcement the first time, senior Luke Haglin was in Michelle Swenson’s Calculus class when Erickson broke the news. Friends of Haglin told him the news shortly after class. “My first thought was that the school is in for a treat when I have to dance in front of everyone,” said Haglin.
It is a homecoming tradition that the homecoming court performs a dance for the student body at the homecoming pep fest.
Emma Sternberg was crowned freshman princess. and Lauren Quinlivan was crowned sophomore princess as well as junior, Haley Nielsen, was crowned her class’ princess.
The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at the homecoming coronation on Monday, Sept. 23.
