On Friday March 8, the Orono High School music honor society, Tri-M hosted their annual event, “Orono’s Got Talent”. The show garnered a rather large turnout for a Friday night, with almost all seats in the auditorium filled. All in all, about twelve acts performed, including a piano piece by senior Drew Casey, a yo-yo performance by freshman Graham Bull and a duet to the song “Cups” by seniors Alana Sundby and Greta Schmitt. The acts were broken up with several “mad-minute” activities that involved audience members. At the end, the crowd voted for their favorite acts using a cell phone poll. Freshman Devon McNamara won the popular vote for her vocal and piano performance of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love”.
Tri-M put a lot of effort into creating an enjoyable evening for the crowd. “Everyone was in a committee and each committee had their own duties. So, by splitting up the roles between everyone, everything that needed to get done got done and it turned to be a great show!” said senior Tri-M member Kirsten Fredin.
