On Mar. 6, the Memorial Blood Centers “Blood-Mobile” parked in front of Orono High School’s mezzanine doors prepared to take donations from Orono students. The spring blood drive, facilitated by Student Senate, attracted many student donors ages 16 to 18 to give the lifesaving donation.

Memorial Blood Centers comes to Orono High School twice a year to conduct the blood drive. The drive attracts anyone, adventurous to squeamish, who wants to make a difference. One pint of blood from one person can save three lives.

“It was a good feeling, knowing that I had helped save a life,” said senior Ian Volney.

Memorial Blood Centers is Minnesota’s largest community blood center and has been running for over 60 years. For more information, visit their website, www.mbc.org.
