Writing. Whether it be a dreaded essay that is worth a menacing amount of a class grade, or an average science report that continually trips a student up, the writing center is here to allay your fears and tackle your apprehension – ranging from the first sentence of a paper to the last comma error.

Located in room 213, and run by English teacher Jarrett Lundquist, the writing center is a plausible, easy choice for anyone. Filled with a variety of tutors, creativity is sure to be understood and interpreted so that with the help of tutors, students are sure to get on track.

Tutors are qualified individuals selected by Lundquist to best tackle every aspect that writing may bring. Because of the variety of tutors that the writing center offers, students are sure to find one that meets and specializes their needs.

With an appointment (look on his webpage for the writing center tab for a schedule) students can schedule by either directly contacting Lundquist or signing up online. Students can “come get help on any part of the writing process, something that is both flexible as it is manageable for your time frame,” said Lundquist.

“The writing center helped me sort through my thoughts— it cleared everything up,” said sophomore Abby Chargo. “I was able to write an essay that I knew was going to be great.”

It is never too late to sign up for a session and the critiquing can only benefit students and their grades. It is a great opportunity to take advantage of the resources around the school, not to mention that there is always someone around to guide students through their writing—chances are tutors and teachers have had experiences with the same writing struggles.
