The 2024 presidential election is less than 20 days away. There are many candidates vying for the presidency including major party nominees Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, and third-party candidates Jill Stein, Chase Oliver, and Cornel West. Learn more about them below:
Donald Trump
Former President Trump, 78, was born in Queens, New York in 1946. In 1971, Trump inherited a real estate business from his father, Fred Trump, which he then renamed the Trump Organization. He would serve as President of the Trump Organization from 1971-2017. Under his leadership, the Trump Organization built skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and other buildings. Trump was the host of the TV show The Apprentice from 2004-2015. In 2016, Trump campaigned for the Presidency of the United States as the Republican nominee, beating the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the former First Lady and Senator from New York. Trump lost re-election to former Vice President Joe Biden in 2020.

Kamala Harris
Harris, 59, was born in Oakland, California in 1964. She was elected District Attorney of San Francisco in 2004, a position she held until 2011 when she was elected Attorney General of California. Harris served as Attorney General until her election to the US Senate in 2016. Harris was chosen as former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate in the 2020 election, ultimately winning and being inaugurated in 2021.

Jill Stein
Stein, 74, was born in 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. Stein is a physician and also an environmental activist. Stein has run for many different positions throughout her political career including, Lexington Town Meeting (2005, 2008), Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (2006), Massachusetts Governor (2002 and 2010), and President of the United States (2012, 2016, 2024). All of her campaigns have been unsuccessful, except for both of her runs for the Lexington Town Meeting and her 2024 presidential campaign which is yet to be determined.

Chase Oliver
Oliver, 39, was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1985. Oliver worked as a sales account executive and HR representative before running for a US House seat in a 2020 special election in Georgia. Oliver later gained national attention after running in the 2022 Georgia U.S. Senate election, garnering 2.07% of the vote, forcing a run-off election between Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker.

West, 71, was born in 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. West is a college and university professor and influential author who has written more than 2 dozen works. West has been involved in political activism since his teenage years, marching and coordinating civil rights protests. West is a self-described socialist.
