An Instant Alert email from the Orono School District sent at 3:47 a.m., followed by phone calls to students and staff, stated that due to the “inclement” weather conditions, all Orono schools are closed for the entire day on Feb. 29. The alert stated that the decision was made to protect the safety of Orono students and staff members, as their safety “is a priority.”
School is scheduled to resume as normal on Thursday, Mar. 1.
