Orono plans an alternative graduation due to COVID-19
Graduation ceremonies will look very different for the class of 2020 across the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In-person graduation ceremonies should be avoided in order to keep everyone in the community safe according to The Minnesota Department of Health.
Orono has decided to hold a virtual graduation on June 3rd, the same day as the previously planned commencement. This gives the school a way to honor and show respect for their seniors. They also have put up signs in each senior’s yard and are planning a graduation parade. They are doing all they can that is allowed by the government in order to keep everyone as healthy as possible.
