Despite the warm weather, winter sports are still in full swing.  Over the weekend Orono sports teams found success as they enter the final stretch of their seasons.

The Orono Wrestling team had four individuals qualify for state. Henry Beck, Danny Striggow, Bobby Striggow and Lucas VanDyke will be representing Orono at the State Meet at the Xcel Energy Center on March 2-4.

The Boys Swim and Dive team had their section meet and were extremely successful.The 200 Medley Relay team won their section to qualify for State. This team swam an All American Consideration time of 1:35.42.  State qualifiers include Alex Schrock, Matthew Watkins, Andy Kileen, Peter Sherek, Sig Muller, Will Brenton, Brendon Prentice, Harry Graham and Peter Kasner. The Alternates are Sol Dworsky, Jack Marquis, Cameron Davison, Calvin Carrison and Nick Gauvin.

The Gymnastics Team ended their season on a strong note at their State competition with two girls competing. Sam Abler and Chelsea Landis represented Orono at this event.
