Job title: Guidance Counselor for last names Q-Z and college guidance counselor at Orono High School.

Katie Dorn is the new guidance counselor at Orono this year. She arrived at Orono this summer and said her first day “was very quiet since it was in the summer when there was no kids around.” However, she was “very anxious to met all the Orono students.”

Now since the school year has started Dorn says she is “a lot more busy working with all the kids now.”

Before coming to Orono, Katie Dorn was a marketing and business consultant. She worked at Minnetonka High School in the career center, then at Edina High School as a college and guidance counselor. Dorn said these were jobs she “really enjoyed.”

So far Dorn’s opinion on Orono High School is that it is a “gem of a school, with great academics, high involvement and great kids.” She said she feels “very lucky to be here.”
