Connor Avery, Sports Editor
Senior Connor Avery is not your average "hockey jock." As Sports Editor for The Spartan Speaks, Avery brings his love for Orono and sports to the team of reporters. He also has a passion for writing hard-hitting stories with a conflict or emotional interest.
Outside of classes, Connor is a member of three sports teams: hockey, tennis, and a Wayzata swim team at the Wayzata Country Club which he has been a member of for 14 summers.
Connor's friend would describe him as a little "wacky," easy to make laugh, someone who lives in the moment loving every day. "It's a great day for a day" is Avery's philosophy that he lives by.
Connor also has a unique interest in music. He says he likes almost every type of music out there. His favorite artists are Jack Johnson, Rolling Stones, Goo-Goo Dolls, and Snow Patrol to name a few.
His admittance to the University of Vermont is something he considers to be one of his greatest accomplishments. As he continues in life he hopes to gain knowledge and wisdom as well as maintain a personable and respectful reputation with his peers.
