The spotlight is on Mayer while he sings “Neon.”

John Mayer returned to Minneapolis for his Born and Raised World Tour on Saturday Nov. 23 at the Target Center.

The concert began at 7:00 with Phillip Phillips.  Mayer hit the stage at 8:00 and opened with the song from his new album, “Queen of California.”

At one point during the concert, Mayer invited the audience to sing along to “Happy Birthday” for one of his back-up singers.

The set up of the stage was fantastic. The backdrop included a canyon, a sky, a few shooting stars, and some nature scenes.

Other popular songs Mayer sang included “Neon,” “Waitin’ on the World to Change,” “No Such Thing,” and “Half of My Heart.”

He closed with his infamous “Gravity” during an encore.

Mayer’s vocals sounded just as good as they do on his CD. The audience was enthusiastic throughout the night. His guitar skills were very impressive, along with his backup singers, drummers, pianist, and guitarists.

Overall, the vibe of the concert was very warm, welcoming, and relaxing.

The fans had opportunities to buy John Mayer and Phillip Phillips apparel before, during, or after the concert.
