Many students and faculty were pumped up to hear that Chick-fil-A had moved to Minnesota.
Chick-fil-A originated in Atlanta, Ga. Now, it is the second largest fast food chicken restaurant chain in the U.S. Chick-fil-A is a privately held family business.
In Minnesota, there are six locations: one at the airport, one on campus at the University of Minnesota, one in Bloomington, one in Apple Valley, one in Coon Rapids and one in Maple Grove.
Chick-fil-A Maple Grove is in a very suitable location. It is just off of 694 on N. Hemlock Lane, located next to The Shops at Arbor Lakes.
When I went in, the restaurant had very fast service, especially since it was a busy night.
Their menu consists of Coke products for beverages, desserts, salads, sides, meals, and breakfast. They do not offer a large variety of items, but they have something for everyone.
Their prices are very good for the quality of food. Chick-fil-A’s breaded sandwiches range from three to four dollars, and their grilled chicken sandwiches range from four to six dollars.
Chick-fil-A does not just sell fried food. The restaurant also offers salads, with a choice of eight different dressings. Chick-fil-A offers chicken salad sandwiches, wraps, along with a soup & salad meal. They also have your choice of coleslaw, instead of waffle fries, or as a premium side they offer fruit, side salad, chicken soup, and yogurt parfaits.
In addition to Coke products, Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade and Iced tea are also offered.
I ordered the three-piece chicken strips, one Original Chicken Sandwich, and one Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich to share with a friend. Once we got the food, it was colder than most fast food restaurants I’ve been too.
However, the chicken was tender and tasted very fresh. Every chicken sandwich comes with a side of two pickles.
The Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich was my favorite. It consisted of tomato, lettuce, pepper jack cheese, and the spicy chicken breast. The first bite didn’t seem spicy, but it surprised me after the second bite, in a good way.
If you don’t like chicken sandwiches, the three piece Chicken Strips were good. The breading was delicious and gave the chicken a nice crunch. The strips were also tender and mouth-watering.
Chick-fil-A offers waffle fries, which were hot in temperature and freshly cooked when served. The fries were not salty, and they did not taste greasy.
Lastly, I ordered a chocolate chunk cookie. They were alright for a restaurant that specializes in chicken, however, I have had better.
Chick-fil-A is a must-go, especially if you have not been there before. However, I would not get your hopes up. Their chicken tastes just as good as a Wendy’s chicken sandwich, or Raising Cane’s. In my opinion, I like the chicken at Raising Cane’s better.
