Whether you tuned into the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, or opted out, there were many highlights from the night everyone is talking about. The fashion, performances, and winners did not disappoint this year and the show put on was worth the three hour watch.
When I watch an awards show the very first thing I notice are the unique outfits each of the celebrities decide to wear for the night. One of the best dressed in my opinion was Vanessa Hudgens. Not only was she a fabulous host of the show, but each one of her many outfit changes proved better than the last. Ludacris, her co host, also looked dapper in his dark blue suit.
Some of the other best dressed include rising star Camila Cabello, Jason Derulo, Olivia Munn, Lea Michele, Rachel Platten, Ansel Elgort and Hailee Steinfeld. Every star there impressed, once again, with their both imaginative and beautiful outfits of the night.
Performers at the event included a star-studded lineup that contributed to an energetic show. Starting off with Nicki Minaj’s opening performance with Jason Derulo and Lil Wayne. Some highlights from the night started off with Miley Cyrus’ heartfelt and upbeat performance of her new song Malibu, that even brought her to tears at the end saying it was a ‘brand new start’.
Following Miley’s performance, the highlight of the show in my eyes was Celine Dion’s incredible performance of My Heart Will Go On, in honor of the 20 year anniversary of The Titanic. The icon award was given to Cher who also put on an impressive performance of two of her most famous hits. Drake’s performance in the middle of the fountain at the Bellagio was also a major hit of the night.
Not only did he give a great performance, Drake set a record winning the most awards ever won by an artist in a single night (13). The biggest of his wins being that of best artist, top male artist, top billboard 200 artist, top billboard 100 artist, and top rap artist.
Some of the other big winners include the one and only Beyonce who walked away with top female artist, top touring artist, top R&B artist, and top R&B album. Zayn won top new artist, Twenty One Pilots won top group/duo, and Blake Shelton won for top country artist.
With each award show comes new fashion, bigger performances, and more impressive wins and the 2017 Billboard Music Awards were no different.
