Orono has a very talented student body. While many of us could name some of our friends who are very talented, we are going to showcase one senior who has a few talents you may not know about.
This interview is with Emory Landis.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Orono?
A: I love the spirit and supportive atmosphere at Orono.
Q: What is your least favorite thing about Orono/Something you would want to change about Orono?
A: I think that there are a lot of cliques and groups at Orono.
Q: What are you involved in at Orono/in the community?
A: I am involved in gymnastics and the cheer team, I also volunteer at Presbyterian Homes, a local assisted living and nursing home facility.
Q: Do you have any hobbies? What are they?
A: In my free time I enjoy biking, swimming, shopping, and fashion.
Q: Do you have a secret talent? If so, what is it?
A: Because of my background in gymnastics I can do a flip and a twist.
Emory participates in all four gymnastic events which include the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Her favorite event is the floor exercise because of the power and the height she can achieve. Emory started gymnastics when she was 11 years old, she was on a club team for six years and reached a level eight. Then she joined the school team for two years.
Q: What is something about you that no one know?
A: I have a younger brother who is nine years old
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: I hope that in 10 years that I will be traveling the world.
