An Even Fuller House

An Even Fuller House

1EADB4CCThe throwback show Full House, which originally aired in the late 1980s to the early 1990s can be appreciated by everyone, no matter their age. The story revolved around average single parent, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) and his three daughters, DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and little Michelle (Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen); growing up in a house together along with their crazy neighbor, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).

Who can forget Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) and his wife Rebecca (Lori Loughlin), as well as the king of impressions, Uncle Joey (David Alan Coulier), who all helped raise the girls. The youngsters of Full House have all grown up, and now are the adults in the new Netflix comedy.

The show started with the original opening to Full House captioned: “Twenty-six years later”. Danny Tanner is now a grandpa, and is seen joking around with DJ’s youngest son Tommy. This led to an introduction of the original characters except for Michelle, who Danny claims is running her fashion empire in New York. During the introduction of Michelle, the cast members give dirty looks to the camera as though they’re looking at her (the Olsen twins decided to pass on the show, seeing as though they haven’t done any acting in years).

I loved it, it was a great reunion to the original

Then, the new opening began, which was a remix of the old song and side-by-side videos of the cast then and now.

The episode began with Kimmy Gibbler being her annoying, overbearing self, barging in on the Tanners, who were gathered at the breakfast table reflecting on their life accomplishments and new jobs. After this reflection, Uncle Jesse commented, “Damn, we all still look good.”

The Tanner clan is staying at Danny’s house for the weekend and as the episode comes to an end, they throw a party in the house before it’s finally sold.  At that moment, in walks DJ’s old love interest, Steve. The party ends as the family talks about how they are leaving for new careers, and DJ realizes how much work she has ahead of her.

The family members all hear her talking to her son about the struggles ahead they will face alone over the baby monitor. Kimmy and Stephanie decide to clear their schedules to move into the original house with DJ. Danny also offers to take it off the market for them and Kimmy and Stephanie fill the roles of Jesse and Joey from Full House.

Throughout the season, it’s all about their misadventures as the “She-Wolf Pack”, que howling sound effect, takes on life together and are there to support each other. There are so many events: going to nightclubs to meet men, Kimmy’s soon-to-be ex-husband reappearing to win her back, to the kids getting into trouble at school. DJ is also caught in a love triangle between an old flame and a new one.

Who will she choose? You’ll have to find out for yourself.
