Thousands of instagrammers, Youtubers, and bloggers post new and unique hairdos every day. They show off what they can do and many people begin to follow them. Their followers like, comment, and try to mimic what they post. With over 5,000 followers, senior Taylor Eckerline has created a successful hair instagram with the username of “hairdosbyme”.
“I would post a few on my personal account but it wasn’t the same, and that’s why I decided to make the account,” Eckerline said. She became interested in braiding hair when she was in seventh grade and at first, she only wanted to master the double french braid. Then in 2012, the Hunger Games came out and Eckerline wanted to learn how to do the “Katniss braid.” Her inspiration started from there and eventually, she created her instagram account.
When asked about Eckerline’s account, nothing but great comments were said. “I am a superfan of hairdosbyme,” senior Lily Mckown said. There are 163 posts of amazing hairstyles with hairstyles ranging from curled down dos to braided updos. She also includes tutorials on how to do some of the styles through pictures and videos. Eckerline uses friends, family, and herself to model what she can do. Many of her models feel honored to be posted in her pictures.
“I was very excited when hairdosbyme finally followed me back,” senior Lydia Personius said. Many followers post on each picture, complimenting Eckerline on her work. Her hairdo’s are, “so epic,” senior Jessica Woessner said. She is also connected with various braiding accounts by interacting with them in her pictures.
“My account is fun to do, because I love looking at other accounts braids and challenging myself to recreate them and entering contests that other accounts host,” Eckerline said. Check out the impressive instagram account by searching @hairdosbyme and give her a follow. You won’t be disappointed.
