If you are a budding artist or even not artistic at all but want to try painting out, Brush Studio is the place.
Open for a little more than a year in the West End in St. Louis Park, Brush Studio is a great place for your inner artist to come out.
Owners Jodi Karn and Jean Forbes have backgrounds in both small and large business environments and wanted to create a business that would promote creativity and fun.
“We have a passion for creating a unique and fun destination for our customers, in which they will want to come back again and again,” Karn and Forbes said.
Before coming to a class, you will need to sign up online. There are specific dates with different paintings available on the calendar. Select the painting that you want and pay the $35 fee, which includes the canvas, paint, brush, easel and apron. Signing up with friends is also a great opportunity; during class you will be seated next to them.
At Brush Studio, there is an instructor who leads the class. She sits in the front and creates the painting with you by showing you what colors to blend, strokes to make, and how to make your painting come together.
“We painted French Fashionista,” junior Jensen Lindholm said. “It was such a fun experience to paint on a blank canvas and I would definitely recommend it to others.”
Brush Classes are held in a relaxed social group setting, with music playing and food and drinks for sale. There is no experience necessary and by the end of the evening you will be amazed at the artwork you have created.
