Orono High School has received some terrific news. On Friday Dec. 12,  juniors David McCuskey and Rachel Fay were nominated as ExCEL award winners. This is a tremendous honor which is designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community.

Nominees must be: a junior in high school, make satisfactory progress toward graduation, participate in a MSHL fine arts and/or athletic activity, hold a leadership position in their school and finally work voluntarily in their community.

Also seniors John Winston and Grace Koehl were nominated as AAA winners. The purpose of the program is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the fine arts. Winston and Koehl also have complied with the MSHL Student Code of Conduct.
