Minneapolis was recently named the “Most Fun City in America” by game maker Cranium. And, with the snow melting, there’s numerous reasons why.
Junior Millie Luedtke stated “I love spring activities, they keep my blood racing.”
For a fun day in the city, a picnic near “Spoonbridge and Cherry” at the Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens would be a great choice. “Spring is so much fun, I love all the activities it brings,” stated senior Nicole Ellis.
Spring is the time to get active with all sorts of new activities opening up because of the snow melting. A bike ride or jog around Lake Calhoun on a sunny weekend afternoon would be just the thing.
Junior Kelly Wiens said, “My favorite thing to do in the spring is tennis. I love getting out on the court after all the snow has melted!”
For more local activities, go to Ben and Jerry’s in Wayzata and get a refreshing ice cream treat and then walk around main street and go sit down by the lake.
“Once the snow all melts, I love to walk my dog Simon on the Luce Line,” stated Courtney Sawatzke.
Also, there’s always a round of golf at Baker National golf course or at Red Oak in Mound.
As far as sporting events go, there’s always a Twins game at Target Field or a St. Paul Saints game. A Twins game is one of the top activities to do in spring/summer in Minnesota.
To go out and see the animals, go to the Como Zoo or the Minnesota Zoo. The Como Zoo is free and located in St. Paul and the Minnesota Zoo is located in Dakota County and is home to 15 species who are on the endangered species list.
So go out and try something today. The snow is melting and the sun is shining, and there’s fun to be had.
