The final five episodes of the hit television series Psych are scheduled to air March 5 through March 26 on the USA network.
After eight seasons of quirky antics and running gags, Steve Franks, the creator of Psych, decided it was time to “end on a high note.”
Along with others, Frank has appeared numerous times throughout the show as a background character or as himself in a cameo.
Another running gag on the series is the pineapple. In every single episode, there is a pineapple placed somewhere within the set. This gag started during the pilot episode when Shawn (James Roday) improvised a joke about Gus owning a pineapple and thus, the pineapple gag was born.
Many actors on the show, such as Dule Hill, Timothy Omundson and Kurt Fuller, have appeared in other shows while on Psych such as: Supernatural, Warehouse 13, Scandal, Parenthood and many others.
Dule Hill appeared in Holes as Sam, also known as the “I can fix that” guy, before being cast as Gus in Psych.
The final episode is titled “The Break Up” which makes many Psycho’s (fans of the show) anxious about the series ending.
Actors James Roday (Shawn) and Dule Hill (Gus) recently released a video discussing the end of the series and thanking all of the Psycho’s who have supported them throughout the years.
The video was bittersweet because it was funny, yet hard to watch the actors talk about the series ending.
“Psych was the first show I got addicted to,” junior Becca Schoen said.
“Your first TV show addiction is like your first love: the break up is devastating and pretty much ruins your life,” Schoen said.
Now, “all I will have left is the memories, [and] all [of] the DVD’s of the seasons to remember the beautiful times [that] Psych and I once had together.”
There have been Facebook pages started called “Save Psych,” which aims to persuade USA to renew the series for another season. So far, the cause is gaining momentum because similar Facebook pages have been launched attempting to save the series, as well.
