On Saturday Oct. 12, country singer Cassadee Pope sang at Mall of America’s (MOA) rotunda in front of hundreds of fans. Pope also signed copies of her new album, Frame By Frame, for fans as well as taking pictures with them.
Pope is known for her win on the third cycle of the singing competition The Voice. A winner from judge Blake Shelton’s team, Pope transitioned from a punk-rock singer to a full-fledged country star throughout the competition. Before auditioning for the show, Pope was the lead singer in the punk-rock band Hey Monday. The band was active until the late 2000s until Pope decided to pursue a solo career in the music industry.
The event at MOA, sponsored by local country stations K102 and BUZ’[email protected], included a meet and greet, a short concert by Pope and a signing.
During the concert, Pope gave a preview of Frame By Frame by performing songs off of the new album. Songs performed by Pope included “Champagne” and “This Car”. The first single off of Frame By Frame, “Wasting All These Tears” ended the show. “Wasting All These Tears” hit the number one spot on the iTunes country chart as well as setting records on Minnesota radio stations.
The concert put on by Pope had fans mouthing the lyrics to her songs and jumping on their feet. Her voice was spectacular, leaving fans wondering how she reached such high notes in her wide vocal range.
After the concert, Pope took the time to take a photo with each fan as well as signing a copy of Frame By Frame for each guest.
“[I] had an amazing time at Mall of America today! So many of you showed up! Feeling very thankful and giddy,” Pope tweeted after the event.
Cassadee Pope continues to travel around the country to radio stations and events such as the one that took place at MOA over the weekend. In the near future, Pope is an artist to watch as well as see in concert.
