Around the world in seven looks

Fashion sails across the seven seas. Take a trip to seven different cities to discover seven worldly inspired trends.

Over on the West Coast, in San Francisco, a sweet, bohemian look is in. Long and flowing maxi dresses are huge this spring. Pair a brightly colored maxi dress with chunky bracelets and comfy sandals. Some San Fran locals dare to go for a riskier boho trend: the solid colored high-low skirt. Wearing a crop top with a high-low skirt gives more shape to an outfit rather than a maxi dress.

These London-inspired trends could make even Kate Middleton jealous. Marc Jacobs’ runway is full of bold, graphic printed dresses. The European store, H&M, offers jaw-dropping prints as well. The Chanel Spring Collection, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, is flaunting sweetheart dresses. Delicate beading and lace is inspired by London’s softer side. Floral designs have grown their way onto London skirts, mimicking the wildflowers that grow in the European countryside.

New York is a fast-paced city where trends are constantly moving. Miu Miu’s earth-toned wedges change up New York’s concrete runway. Designer Cynthia Steffe renovated the cardigan by adding fur to the front of the classic cardi. New Yorkers also incorporate the lastest pant trend into their wardrobes. Cropped or ankle pants in saturated jewel tones add emphasis to the legs.

A girl can’t travel the world without radiant skin. Athens, Greece is home to the headquarters of Korres Skincare. Korres specializes in masks, cleansers and lotions infused with pomegranate, wild rose and other natural ingredients that are good for the skin. Korres products are gentle on the skin, even in the harshest climates. When traveling the globe, a versatile skin care routine is necessary.

The Windy City of Chicago is known for its weather and a practical fashion sense. To handle the spring weather, jacket trends from Chicago are the ones to follow. Designer Alexander Wang debuted the sleeveless jacket. This type of jacket is part blazer, part vest. Combined, both pieces make a versatile jacket fit for any weather. Sleeveless jackets can be found in any color and additional embellishments can make any windy day.

Swim to Sicily, where even the locals follow resort-inspired trends. Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring Collection is inspired by Sicily’s leafy landscape. D&G’s collection features dresses in Mediterranean stripes and woven beach totes. Statement sunnies are the must-have accessory for any beach. Bright, Sicily sunglasses can be found at lulus.com. Beach, anyone?

Tokyo, Japan is the destination of vibrant color and an edgy attitude. Organic prints mixed with a punchy hue of red fly down Prada’s runway. Animated totes from Marimekko and fierce crop tops from Make Me Chic dawn Tokyo’s bold style. Trends from Tokyo amp up the edginess factor of any outfit.

New fashion trends can be found anywhere in the world. Just pick a destination.
