The annual OHS blood drive will take place behind the bleachers in the mezzanine on Monday, November 10th from 12 pm to 6 pm. If you want to donate blood and help those in need, this is a great way to do so.
To give blood, you must be at least 16 years old. If you are 16 years old, you are required to fill out a consent form, and if you are 17 or 18, your parents need to fill out a permission form.
There has been a controversial change to the drive this year; now, students can only give blood during study halls. This was a change by the administration to limit attendance issues that plagued previous drives.
"This is very concerning,” Blood Drive Committee Co-chair Ethan Weiss said. “The blood drive is an event in which the community comes together to donate to those who need it most. To limit when people can participate to their study halls will likely diminish the number of people who actually participate."
