On Sunday, September 21, the Minnesota Vikings dominated the Cincinnati Bengals, winning 48-10. This memorable victory deserves celebration.
As a result, fans were not expecting success in Week 3. But the result on Sunday shocked everyone. Both sides of the offense and the defense played lights out.
A notable player was Isaiah Rogers, a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, who had 2 defensive touchdowns, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception, making him the only player to achieve this feat in a single game. As well as the entire defense, they played great the entire game, only allowing 10 points from the Bengals' offense.
"I was shocked when I saw it on the big screen," Rodgers said afterward about the history-making double-tap. "That's all credit to the scout team throughout the week. They prepared me throughout the entire week, focusing on my cues, so I didn't have to feel any discomfort or anxiety going into this week. … I was very comfortable going into the game."
The offense also had an excellent game, accumulating 352 yards and 3 touchdowns. A notable player was Minnesota running back Jordan Mason. In total, he had 116 yards and 2 touchdowns.
This was a big step up from what happened in week 2, when the Vikings struggled to get anything going against the Atlanta Falcons, ultimately losing 6-22.
“[It was] obviously, a very disappointing performance,” Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell said after the game against Atlanta “We need to coach better, starting with myself. Our team will handle the adversity that’s right in front of us, and we need to get back to work and improve immediately.”
Next week, the Vikings face the Steelers, whose strong defense will test our offense. In Dublin, Ireland, so be ready to wake up early to watch the Vikings at 8:30 AM on Sunday, September 28th.
