On February 9th, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. This big game will be a rematch as the Chiefs and the Eagles went against each other in Super Bowl LVII, where the Chiefs beat the Eagles with a game-winning field goal that put them up by 38-35 to win Super Bowl LVII. The game will be televised on FOX.
Kansas City is favored to beat Philadelphia by -1.5.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes talked about this rematch and how good the Eagles are.
“This is a great football team [that] we’re playing,” Mahomes said. “They’re great on offense, they’re great on defense and special teams. We played them in a close Super Bowl a couple of years ago, but they’ve added players and got even better, so it’ll take our best football to win.”
On the other hand, the Eagles feel that this rematch is their redemption game, as they lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
“I’ve learned so much, It’s the same as any other game. Every game has its lessons – good, bad or indifferent. Being able to become wiser, grow and mature, and take all of those lessons in, it’s had a great driving force. “It lit a flame, lit a fire in me, and to have this opportunity again is exactly what you work for.” Hurts added on the challenge of facing the Chiefs again, chasing a third straight title: “You’ve got to be able to finish [against them].”That’s going to take great focus, a great week of prep this week, putting it all together.”
A poll* conducted by The Spartan Speaks found that an overwhelming 70% of Orono High School are cheering for the Eagles, while only 30% are rooting for the Chiefs.
Kendrick Lamar, known for songs “Not Like Us” and “TV Off” will perform during the Super Bowl halftime show.
