You Matter Week begins next Monday. Read on to learn more about the week’s events, including dress-up days, bingo, free hot chocolate, and more.
All Week:
Beginning today, the Student Senate will be selling You Matter sweatshirts to students who wish to purchase them. Each will cost $35. The Wellbeing Club will also be offering wellness tips before school every day next week.
Monday, December 16th:
Monday’s dress-up day is pajamas. All students are encouraged to participate. During lunch, students will also have the choice to write letters to their classmates and staff. These letters will be distributed Friday, during lunch.
Tuesday, December 17th:
Tuesday’s dress-up day is ‘groutfit.’ Groutfit is essentially just an all-grey outfit. During lunch, students can participate in bingo for the chance to win fun prizes. Bingo will be played with small boards and Skittles to mark spaces that have been called.
Wednesday, December 18th:
Wednesday’s dress-up day is ugly sweaters. Similar to Monday, students will be able to write letters to their classmates and staff during lunch that will be distributed to their intended people during lunch on Friday. There are no other activities on Wednesday.
Thursday, December 19th:
Thursday’s dress-up day is blankets. Students can also bring a mug or other beverage container to school to receive free hot chocolate before school, beginning at 7:30 am. During Spartan Hour, Wellbeing Club will be putting on a lesson regarding mindfulness in Ms. Nohner’s room. A sign-up form will be sent out for this, and the activity will be limited to 40 students. There is no activity during lunch.
Friday, December 20th:
Friday’s dress-up day is You Matter Apparel. Friday will deviate from the standard schedule, having a Spartan Hour in which students can choose from a variety of activities to participate in, including decorating cookies, coloring, watching Elf, and more. During lunch, the letters that were written on Monday and Wednesday will be distributed to their intended recipients.
