Tom Brady, arguably the best American football player, has now turned to announcing NFL games. In May 2022, FOX Sports announced a 10-year, $375 million contract with Brady. This contract exceeds his total earnings as a football player, which were $333 million in 23 seasons.

But an overwhelming majority of fans are still disappointed.

“I’m learning a lot, believe me,” Brady acknowledged the questioning fans.

Kevin Burkhardt, an NFL announcer since 2013, is partnering with Brady in the booth.

“Well, Tom Brady is even wrong once in a while,” His partner, Burkhardt chimes in, supporting the rookie announcer.

Even though it’s Brady’s first year, people are dissatisfied with his performance.

“Tom Brady is so bad at announcing. Every time I see Tom Brady announcing I don’t watch the game” junior Cade Hovland points out.

Although Tom Brady is in his rookie year of broadcasting, he still has high expectations because of his gridiron track record.

“He points out the obvious, his speaking is very bland, and with the restrictions, he can’t perform the duties required. I think that he should’ve not become an announcer, he should’ve just enjoyed retirement” Orono sophomore football player James Foley stated.

Some students think otherwise, however, and like the new face at Fox Sports.

“I think Tom Brady is a great addition to Fox Sports since he is the biggest name in this sport,” sophomore Axel Selseth said.

Some people believe adding Tom Brady would be great. He seems to be a fan favorite.

”I think he is good at announcing, we needed a new face in Fox. Also, him being a former quarterback who is the G.O.A.T is cool” Orono varsity football player Jackson Kahout agreed.

With limitations and criticism, it doesn’t look the greatest for the seven-time Super Bowl champion. But with it being only his first year, it seems like only time will tell.
