Tamer Abukhadra, a member of the graduating class of 2024 tells OHS students “Study hard, don’t skip school, and get good grades. Really make sure your work at Orono counts.”
When Tamer says study hard, he means that it’s important to work for your grades, because if you don’t, then high school isn’t worth anything. He encourages us not to skip school because skipping would be a waste of education, and you shouldn’t waste an opportunity. A well-encouraged tradition of the Orono community is to get good grades. Tamer encourages us to do this as well to maximize our potential.
Tamer has gone to Orono for all 4 years of high school and has been here since preschool. He has played football for 4 years, wrestled for 4 years, and has also done track, (earning a grand total of 10 varsity letters, according to Tamer).
Tamer will be attending Buena Vista University, a university in Storm Lake, Iowa for Criminology: the scientific study of crime and criminals. Tamer also says he wants to wrestle and play football during college.
Tamer has 3 siblings, one older sister who goes to the University of Minnesota and 2 younger siblings who go to Orono.
Tamer says his favorite OHS memories are “Probably the homecoming football games” because of all of the festivities and traditions, along with the dance.
