Outer Banks is Netflix’s newest show that has recently taken the media by storm… literally. It involves a group of teenage friends, John B., Kiara, Pope, and J.J., who find themselves getting mixed up in the search for a missing treasure. Those four characters have social media, news, and just about every other platform blowing up with love for the show. As it appears to be much like a classic, cheesy, kid-friendly thriller, it’s actually gotten great reviews from adults who may find something like this a little annoying.

What OBX and Netflix were able to do with this show was to give people the opportunity to experience something other than their at-home office or basement bench press. It allowed people to feel the sun and water from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It tells a crazy fun story while also giving us a new hope of what life can look like after we get out of quarantine. With the perfect COVID-19 show having finished filming back in 2019, it’s almost like Netflix knew this virus was coming.
