The Orono football team took a tough loss against non-league Chaska last Friday night for Orono’s big homecoming game. The final score ended up being 38-7. Many fans attended the game expecting big things from Orono, but in the end the team couldn’t pull out with a win.
After halftime, the score was 35-0 and the Orono Spartan fans were losing hope. It was time to turn things around.
“Everyone was having a lot of fun and the whole student fan section was cheering for the team,” senior Grace Berbig said.
Eventually, Chaska scored again in the 3rd quarter making the score 38-0. With the help of junior Noah Arneson, Orono pushed through and scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter making the final score 38-7.
“Everyone was really rooting for them [Orono], but in the end, it was a night that everyone will always remember,” senior Emma Davie said.
Orono will take on the Waconia Wildcats in a non-league game on Friday, September 20 at Waconia High School.
