Shattering box office records one day at a time, The Avengers Endgame, has left its millions of viewers in dismay. However, one simple spoiler of these top hits can result in the “endgame” of some die hard fans lives. For some Marvel fans, a simple leak to a character dying is equivalent to a gunshot to the heart.
Movie theaters across america stayed open 24 hours a day from opening night, Thursday April 25th, to Sunday the 28th. Not only has the Endgame broke the record of most views on a trailer with nearly 300 millions views (previously held by their preceding movie Infinity War), but also the record for most earnings off of presale tickets according to the website Screen Rant.
If you’re talking about The Avengers with your friends after opening night, don’t be surprised to see everyone around you covering their ears. Millions of people share their opinions and reviews without any hesitation to the fact that they might be ruining the experience for a fan who hasn’t seen the movie yet. However, defining a specific time when people are allowed to share their opinions after a major media event is a highly debated topic.
The “Earmuff” technique has worked very well for Senior Alex Danielson. Another technique of running as far as possible when the word endgame has come up in conversation has also kept him from going into severe spoiler depression.
“I avoided spoilers by staying off of Instagram and Youtube comment sections for multiple days.” said Marvel lover Danielson. “I warned my friends that if they spoiled the movie for me, I would not hold back in beating them up.”
