Orono High School hosted its annual Empty Bowls event on April 5. This year was the 14th year the fundraiser has been organized at OHS. This event took place in the high school cafeteria and featured different ceramic bowls crafted by high school art students as well as musical talents.
Students, families and community members are encouraged to attend the event and to watch high schoolers’ musical performances while they enjoy a soup dinner in the hand-made bowls. Students who participate in Orono’s Tri-M program performed during the duration of the event.
The event was an hour long from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. and costed a total of $10 for the meal which consisted of soup and bread along with the handcrafted bowl to take home. All of the money raised at the event was donated to the Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners as well as the Maple Plain Food Shelf. Tickets could be bought at the door the day of the event.
