While most students are spending spring break relaxing on vacation, seniors Guy Mohs, Lukas VanDyck and Colin Sim, along with Mohs’ brothers Griffen Mohs, Nick and Alex Messerli, will be traveling to Haiti with the purpose of taking care of kids sponsored through the program Transformed Twelve.
Mohs said that Transformed Twelve was designed to get sponsors for kids in Haiti to help them go to school. However, the Orono students will be in charge of visiting the sponsored students during their time in Haiti.
“It’s all about relationships,” Mohs said.
You can help Transformed Twelve by buying the designated products on their donation site, or by simply giving money to the cause. Transformed Twelve is looking for a variety of personal care products to be donated this week; the most needed items are deodorant, toothpaste and soap. If you need a place to donate the items this week, you can place them in Mrs. Herring’s room (#216) on the second floor.
If you have any additional questions, talk to Guy Mohs or visit the Transformed Twelve website at www.transformedtwelve.org.
