OHS students are invited to a “Law and Order” career quest to learn about careers in the legal and justice world on Friday, Feb. 16. during Spartan Hour.
The career quests are fairly casual; they occur in the media center by the back tables. The guest professionals that will be attending will introduce themselves. Students will learn about their background, their education and path to their current position, what they like about their jobs and what’s challenging about their jobs. There is time for questions from students also.
With this career quest, students will learn about career paths in the justice system and learn how to pursue a career in the legal world.
Cole Hickman is one guest that will be attending and explaining his position. He is an attorney for a firm in Wayzata with primary practice areas of estate planning and representing businesses.
Nadia Polukhin Pratt will also be attending and talking about her position. She is an immigration lawyer from Pratt International Law Firm.
Lastly, Chuck Maclean will be attending to explain what he does. After a 20-year career as a state felony prosecutor, Chuck taught full-time in law schools from 2010-2017. He focused on legal writing, criminal law, criminal procedure and trial advocacy. He now practices criminal defense and family law in Eden Prairie.
