The Orono Varsity football team won against DeLaSalle 54-14 on Friday, October 13th. With a 4-3 record the Spartans are looking forward to sections to redeem their regular season.
Each year homecoming is celebrated, the orono community comes together in amazing ways like no other. All the students joined together to wore blue in honor of Betsy Myers with her fight against cancer.
Comical stunts by the student section caused a scene when multiple fence poles were handed down through the student section to fix a broken fence. There was no other solution to get fence poles down to the field with such a large crowd cheering on the team. Each pole was so big it stretched across the entire student section, every fan lent a helping hand in order to fix the broken fence.
“We had so much fun at the game while every person in the student section was chanting about the rusty pipe being tossed around the student section, and that Mr. Mieras joined in on the fun and was chanting with us.” Said Senior Abby Fay.
