Today marks the one year anniversary of iconic musician David Bowie’s tragic passing. He knew only three months before Jan. 10, 2016 that is liver cancer was terminal. Bowie has influenced music for many years. Bowie’s music All kinds of people can groove to Bowie’s unique music.
Artists anywhere from Paul McCartney, Peter Frampton, rapper MGK, grunge band Nirvana, Queen and The Killers are just a few of many that have contributed Bowie, through music or words, to their music. Bowie can be heard through some of their songs styles.
It saddens fans all around the world still today to think of Bowie’s passing, but Bowie is still giving out new music. Bowie believed he had enough time to produce one more album. While recording songs for his, unknowingly last, twenty-fifth album Blackstar in 2015, Bowie also was recording songs for his musical Lararus.
Those songs from Lararus have been compiled and were released just Sunday as an EP. The No Plan EP is a wonderful way to honor what would have been Bowie’s 70th birthday three days ago.
Bowie’s songs, whether from his latest EP, first album, or his collaborations with other singers, will be cherished forever. He will be missed and honored by people for many years to come. He will always continue to influence music and his legacy will live on forever.
