As we know, winter gets cold. Seriously, negative numbers and wind chill. The days are already rushed with less daylight hours but what happens when the scary moment comes and your vehicle doesn’t start? Fear no more, here we’ll give a step by step of how to jump your vehicle. Make sure, especially in this cold weather, you have a pair of jumper cables in your vehicle.
*Note make sure you or the person jumping your car has jumper cables
**Also make sure cable ends do not touch while connected to cars otherwise a spark will happen
- Park the cars so the fronts are facing each other (but not touching)
- Turn off the cars and open the hoods
- Put the red cable to the red (positive) part of the battery on stalled car first
- Connect black cable to the black (negative) part of the battery on the stalled car
- Then repeat steps three and four with working car
- Turn on functioning car and put it in park, reve engine
- Let sit for awhile
- Turn on the other car
- Remove cables (make sure the ends do not touch)
