Everyone loves when the fall leaves start to change from their bright greens to rustic oranges and vibrant red. The sun is still around but the wind gives you a chill around your body as you try to stay close to the warm fire. It’s a short season and trying to do fun things outdoors can be a challenge. Besides just walking around and enjoying the colors there’s so much more to do in Minnesota during the fall.
Open Sept. 29 – Oct. 31, Sever’s Fall Festival is one of the most family friendly places around Minnesota. From riding a camel to jumping into a giant pit of corn, Sever’s is an all ages place with plenty of fun for all.
As Sever’s Fall celebrates their 20 years of Sever’s Fun, make sure to try all their new and old activities including Pumpkin Blaster where you try hitting targets with smaller pumpkins out of canons.
They are famous for their amazing corn maze designs. In the past they’ve created an Egyptian theme, princesses and Vikings football tribute.
Sever’s has grown in size over the course of their 20 years. They have many new and updated activities. They even have new animals in the petting zoo, which includes kangaroos, birds, a wombat and a water oxen. They have great food trucks which include chicken wings, meatball subs and a simple roasted corn with salt. Before you leave make sure you grab a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch.
If you are not into everything pumpkins, then head on over to Apple Jacks Orchard. They have a wide range of apples to pick from.
If you are looking for apples, one can either go out to the fields and pick your own apples or head into their apple market and buy a bag. Inside the apple market, they sell many different apple-themed desserts, but they also have soups, sandwiches and pizza.
Things you can find during their Everyday Fall Fun is their petting zoo which has goats, chickens, bunnies and sheep. Outside is their free play place which has a wooden train for the little kids to ride.
Inside, their gift shop and apple market is open everyday with new and creative gifts for loved ones.
On the weekend, they have their famous cow train for ages four and under. Fun for all ages, there is a wagon ride that tours the whole orchard.
Oct. does not mean it’s just fall, it also means that it is time to get you scare on for Halloween. A perfect place a ValleySCARE, not only does it still have the fun roller coasters they have great haunted houses, but it attracts a lot of people so be ready to wait in a long line. However, it is worth seeing (they can not touch you don’t worry) all zombies, vampires, ghouls and gobbling.
There’s a wide range of what you can do during the fall season this year; you might just have try them all before the first snowfall of the year.
