Natalie Cumming and Oscar Edwards-Hughes
Natalie Cumming
- Grade: Senior
- Parents’ Names: John Cumming and Eileen Crespo
- Proudest Moment: My proudest moment was taking 5th at Speech Catholic Nationals this May because I felt like I had really shown what a performer I was and that my winning was completely indisputable.
- Most Embarrassing Moment: My most embarrassing moment was one time when I came out of Señora Wooley’s class and rammed right into a classmate in the hallway and my glasses fell off. I was with a friend and we were able to laugh it off to our next class. Now I always make sure to look both ways when coming out into a busy hallway during a passing period.
- Sports and activities they are involved in at OHS and in the community: I’m captain of the speech team, co-leader of Mental Health Alliance, drama club, drum major in band, theatre, and I volunteer at the Wayzata Library.
- One of your favorite Orono memories–from elementary, middle, or high school: I had just gotten my first phone in 6th grade and I was walking up the stairs and texting my Mother when Mrs. Norberg passed me by and said “Don’t text and walk Natalie!” And I just laughed it off and then tripped up the next couple of stairs. It was a perfect example of instant karma.
- If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one object or person, what/whom would it be and why? If I was stranded, I would bring a sack of potatoes because you can make potatoes many different ways even in the sun. Mashed, baked, oven style, in a island soup, the list goes on.
- If you were a box of cereal, which cereal would you be and why? I would probably be Fruity Pebbles because you can hang with me at any point in the day and still be surprised at my energy and colorfulness.
- What is your favorite part of Homecoming and why? My favorite part of Homecoming is going to Perkins after the school dance at around 1 am and waking up the next day completely delirious.
- Is there anything else people should know about you? If I was to title my own autobiography, it would be called “NOIZE” because I never stop talking, humming, dancing, shouting, or singing. The reason for the spelling is because I don’t think I should ever be taken too seriously.
